Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre (November 18, 1787 – July 10, 1851) was a French artist and physicist known for inventing the daguerreotype process in photography.

In the 19th century, this method produced highly detailed and unique images on a silver-coated copper plate.

It is a direct-positive process, meaning no negative is made.

His most innovative work was drawing two different perspectives on both sides of a thin fabric and net like a decor, first one and then the second perspective was revealed when the light changed.
