Anecdotally, using cursor has been an insane unlock (shout out to my claude boys)

But think it most benefits those who understand semantics but not syntax. Ie. technical folks without SME in languages / frameworks 

If you’re a total newbie though, AI gives you a crazy foot gun (for now, I expect it will get even better)

the people who are saying ai can basically replace software engineers:

1. people who aren’t software engineers 
2. software engineers who have only worked on trivial problems
3. charlatans and attention-mongers

but i think we are rapidly approaching a stall-out in capabilities...a lot of experts agree on this (i'm not an expert, but i haven't seen many convincing arguments for how capabilities can increase beyond inferring against training data)

IDK man, the fact that a reinforcement loop is possible makes Software engineering way more in the cross hairs than most think. We are a while away, yes BUT with self play and unit tests and MASSIVE MASSIVE COMPUTE coming online I think we are still early innings
