Rodeo

I had one of the most full-on weeks I've had in a while, however, I still made time for my class. Paying to go to a life drawing class was the best choice I made in 2023. It's not about what I produce but the act of drawing: it's 2hrs of pure mindfulness every week. It is my best therapy. As I write this, I realise that all the art I have been making since 2021 is routed in the creative moment being a mechanism in managing my own health. Previously, my art was the medium through which I was telling stories of others I'd met when I was an humanitarian worker. One day I will get back to those, but in the meantime, my work stems from a personal desire for wellness. If it resonates with others, that's just a bonus.
