Ethereum developer Tim Beiko stated that, unlike TheDAO hack in 2016, the attack on Bybit did not violate Ethereum protocol rules. He warned that a rollback could trigger widespread and difficult-to-repair chain reactions, potentially leading to even more destructive consequences. The cost of such a rollback could far exceed $1.5 billion.
