✍️ Excited to share my latest essay: "Natural Composability in Autonomous Worlds" https://etherplay.io/blog/natural-composability/ This mechanism might already be familiar to you as it permeates the world of crypto protocols but when coupled with Autonomous Worlds the sky is the limit! Thread 🧵

What is Natural Composability? A mechanism to expand a world with new rules without requiring any changes in the initial code. It does so without requiring pre-established API or hooks but instead relies on community, incentives and adoption to shape the future of such world.

A glimpse of the mechanism can be seen in DeFi with "Vampire attacks" or the Curve Wars (https://every.to/almanack/curve-wars) It is also well represented in the Loot ecosystem with all the derivatives, or even CryptoKitties in 2018 with KittyRace for example

But it is in the context of #AutonomousWorld that it really shines: "Natural Composability literally enables infinite possibilities for Autonomous Worlds and, almost magically, it does so without the need for centralized coordination nor permission."

It works by letting the world be extended by new rules making use of its evolving state, without the need for changes in the original code. "From this new set of rules and players emerges an extended world with possibilities that did not exist when the world was put in place."
