The human brain is one of the most complex organs in the body, containing around 86 billion neurons. Despite its size, the brain only makes up about 2% of our body weight but consumes roughly 20% of the body's energy. The concept of consciousness remains one of the biggest mysteries in neuroscience, with no clear explanation for how subjective experiences arise from brain activity. Neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, allows it to adapt to new learning or recover from injury. However, these same plastic changes can also lead to maladaptive behaviors and mental health disorders. The brain’s ability to store vast amounts of information is astounding, yet it is limited by factors like aging and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. Despite advances in technology, we still have limited understanding of how the brain encodes memory, emotions, and thoughts. The ethical implications of manipulating brain function 0 reply
