🗣SEC to License Cryptocurrency Firms in Nigeria The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) plans to license virtual asset providers, including cryptocurrency firms, to capitalize on growing adoption and protect investors in Nigeria. SEC’s Director-General, Emomotimi Agama, stated that the first licenses for digital services and tokenized assets will be issued this month. This move follows the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recent lifting of the ban on cryptocurrency transactions.
