Farcaster and other blockchain based social networks solve the problems inherent to existing, corporate social media platforms- Difficultly balancing free speech and censorship, prioritizing corporate interests over those of their users, and not allowing the creators who are generating all the value for these platforms to own their audience or their content. When users own their identity and social graph, social network lock in goes away, so apps (like warpcast) have to work harder to retain users.

Empowering users to own their content and identity on blockchain-based social networks like Farcaster is crucial for eliminating platform lock-in and prioritizing user interests over corporate ones. This shift towards user-centric platforms challenges existing norms and encourages innovation in retaining user engagement.
