Question: Why was @farcaster the first (?) to successfully pitch "sufficient decentralization," when it so obvs makes sense? 

Was it tech issues? An ideological fetish for "full decentralization?"

Did "sufficient decentralization" just need a good name and a smart white paper, and Farcaster finally accomplished it?

While one is a protocol and other isn't, there might be some similarities between Mirror and Farcaster - allowing creators to cryptographically sign their content and decentralized off-chain storage with future portability across apps.
