1/ why everyone bullish on $SOL instead of $ETH is wrong: when Gary Gensler was in charge, the SEC classified assets as securities, cracked down on exchanges, raised concerns about stablecoins and DeFi, and blocked anything that provided real value. ironically one of the few things left untouched were memecoins.

2/ solana dominated memecoins with faster txns and no liquidity fragmentation, capturing a lot of attention and leading people to believe Solana is better than Ethereum, with their proudest achievement being pump.fun.

3/ real finance is built on Ethereum and is going to make a comeback now that Gensler is gone. on top of that, there is no reason memecoin trading isn’t possible on L2s, liquidity fragmentation is a challenge, but not an existential threat and will be solved over time.

4/ being bearish on L2s is shortsighted. users still need $ETH for L2 fees, and as L2 activity grows, $ETH demand grows too. scaling L2s boosts L1 settlements, driving L1 usage. while L1 fees matter for security, Ethereum’s PoS model has already proven sustainable without needing extreme fees.
