Any tips for perplexity re: research? I’ve mostly been using Bing Chat.

I've been thinking of this exactly this so I can help friends find it as useful as I did this week.

Quick thoughts, rn.

Start with a problem at high level.
Treat it like a brainstorming session.
No wrong answers.
See where the responses lead you.

If you let Claude know the depth of your current knowledge, the answers will most likely get deeper. If not, keep prodding it to give you more nuanced information.

Ask for pros and cons of a situation. Steel man your understanding.

Ask for evidence and data to back up what’s it’s saying.

If the answers are too general, say so.

Give context for your understanding, then ask for a counterpoint or further explanation.
