There is a vibrancy around culture that has pretty much evaporated with people being so glued to their screens. Watching kids on dates is super depressing. Feels like sparks have become desaturated and replaced by pro ballistic algorithms for matching outcomes. Would be cool if a town, city, or country observed a national day of rest to touch grass and turn the screens off. I feel like that would do tremendous things for everybodyโs overall well-being. For those who are terminally online, be off-line a couple of days.

Cuba has super limited Wi-Fi availability. They actually have prepaid cards to get onto the local public Wi-Fi, but the service is awful. I spent about two weeks there for Christmas and New Years a few years back and it was truly a magical experience. Beautiful reminder that sometimes you canโt speed up craftsmanship. And sometimes slow cultures can also win.

I would be excited to see a network state focus on this
