I'm noticing an uptick in communities either leaving or transitioning from Discord as their central place of communication. Common themes I'm seeing around this decision: Discord burnout privacy issues lack of proper organization Who else has witnessed this & what reasons would you attribute to wanting to move away?

interesting! it's so tough to find a platform as good as discord but still few actually enjoy it for larger communities. it's a really difficult problem to solve for! I'm in over 100 discords still but only participate in a few, mostly enjoying telegram and small chats

Just like people, I believe there's a dunbar limit as to how many things we can actively participate in. Most communities don't think of the issues that come w/ scaling until they hit it. By then the challenge becomes how to transition. At that point the only solution that seems viable is building something custom
