Why so serious?

Love, I don’t know all the detours you took before you ended up here. Or maybe I know all of it, I just don’t know exactly how you felt in each. 

But from all the parts you thought I’d rather run away from but you bravely chose to show anyway, I know that the world has been hard on you. It made you feel like you’re not worth staying for. It made you so afraid of goodbyes. It made not even want to hear the word “ending” even from a silly joke. It made you think that love comes only to leave and not to last. 

But love, I want you to remember that I’m here now. I’m here now to take care of you, to hold you close on sunny days and closer on gray. To reassure you that in every “good night”, there’s a “good morning”. That you don’t have to worry about me slipping away because I’m not going anywhere; my heart is here and here to stay. I want you to remember that all the versions of love you’ve seen before may be scary but those are different from ours.
