A Coinbase user was likely social engineered and scammed for 110 cbBTC ($11.5M) on Base last month by a threat actor. The stolen funds were immediately swapped, bridged, and laundered through multiple instant exchanges and funds consolidated with other Coinbase victims on Ethereum. I've spent the last few months in deep conversation with the @coinbase listings team on how they can better support and lift up builders, whether it's on @base or any other chain (L1, L2, everywhere) There's a difference between what Coinbase wants to list, and what they're able to list, based on their status as a regulated exchange — but the team understands the lack of clarity and frustration and are committed to making the process better. I know it's slow and I'm frustrated too — but me and the team are going to keep working until its fixed.
