more than a year ago, @event launched with its "👍 to RSVP" feature. The goal has always been "Facebook events for Farcaster", and frames are the key to taking that vision to the next level. Now, attendees can make going, interested, or can't go in one click, and get a calendar invite. And that's just the start...

I'm also super excited to experiment more with the FC dataset. One example is a feature launching today: gate RSVPs by FC active status! It’s the perfect way to reduce spam on your events, and right when we need it most—flip a switch and limit RSVPs to users with an active badge. More gating options this week!

I love farcaster and I love bringing communities together IRL, so I could not be more excited to be here as farcaster turns a new leaf in 2024. And more than anything @event is a canvas for experimenting. So if you have ideas for features or events, let me know and our crack team of engineers (me) will build it.

Also, for those who recently joined, I have a fund specifically meant to help cover the costs of hosting a farcaster meetup. There will be lots of opportunities at ETHDenver and Farcon to host a channel-specific meetup (some of which you'll hear about in the next week). if you want to host one, please let me know!

I think the idea of a /fitness meetup could be really fun. I'm planning to go climbing with whoever's interested but a gym session would be cool too!
