Cryptocurrency Supporter Mark Uyeda Named Acting SEC Chairman

Just hours after his inauguration, Donald Trump named Mark Uyeda, the current commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a prominent supporter of Bitcoin (BTC), as the acting chairman of the SEC.

The appointment will last until the Senate confirms Paul Atkins, the SEC’s nominee for permanent chairman.

Caroline Pham has also been named acting chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
