fwiw I donβt think the loudest voices scrambling to claim next Farcon is best for the community I appreciate the recent crew, but I DONβT abdicate my role in making Farcon work lol As a guy who prepaid $8K for a venue when nobody wanted to come, weβre pushing a lot of unnecessary risk + work to new organizers

Hi @cameron as one of the people who spearheaded the Farcon Tokyo initiative, it was very much a reaction to NY claiming Farcon 2025 & the team relinquishing themselves of their duties. I'm not aware of the history of Farcon as a relatively new Farcaster user & so sorry for not consulting you earlier. π π π

Being in Japan & admittedly left of center of the FC universe, we felt that Farcon was a massive opportunity for builders and creators in the country to get attention that they typically wouldn't get and build bridges between the Western FC community and Japan early in the protocol's life cycle. π π π

We also recently launched a Tokyo DAO as an initiative to support creators and builders in Japan last month with 13 of us visiting Farcon from Tokyo! We now have 120 members in the DAO and felt that we were uniquely capable of facilitating Farcon. DAO channel: /tokyowip π π π

The DAO also includes members with direct connections to larger event facilities (our monthly meetup is hosted by the company who hosted Bright Moments Tokyo) and hence we already have some early line of sight towards how we would execute Farcon Tokyo, if we were to do it. π π π
