Shipping containers standardized and scaled global trade. EIPs will do the same for crypto EIPs are foundational for researchers and developers to find common ground between theory and application (with 600 contributors to date) I made a tool to better track EIPs updates: eips.wtf https://i.imgur.com/ImwGTqh.jpg

At a high level, EIP activity is very strong! There's been a lot of discussion and updates to sharding blob transactions and op code upgrades. These lower level changes will take Ethereum to global settlement layer, as well as making the EVM more secure https://i.imgur.com/VgceHiu.jpg

Ethereum is going through a ERC renaissance that will create more app level use cases. There is an explosion of new on chain assets and functionality. A really interesting ERC I'm tracking is Cross-Chain Execution (5164) which will support execution across EVM environments https://i.imgur.com/zHkHk9O.png

Coordinating on specifications is important because core developers and application developers have different experiences and perspectives. Through discussion, stakeholders can reach consensus on the best way for the ecosystem to implement new ideas and functionalities
