It is a type of organization that is run through code, smart contracts and tokenization on a blockchain network. DAO projects are decentralized and do not have a traditional hierarchy or leadership structure. Instead, they are run by the consensus of their members who use tokens to vote on decisions and proposals. DAO projects are designed to be transparent and accountable, and allow for the direct participation in the decision-making process.
