It inspired me from a young age to understand our world and to create new ones.

This artist looks like they went on a real trip of the mind to inspire this. When was this made? I am assuming medieval times, which would be quite revolutionary for the artist to consider sticking his head out of the veil of our world and looking into the beyond. That is a very high concept for the time, right?
