From the headaches of picking a suitable topic that has a workable procedure, to the actual carrying of the procedure, difficulties faced, questions asked and some are left unanswered and you gat figure it out yourself as a student. I've always dreaded writing projects simply because I thought that research itself was a tasking work. But I had a really good supervisor who guided me through it all.
