Yeah, we say it all the time. But people still often rush to preserve the reputations of vc-backed max extractors who peddle this garbage. The same people who make these criticisms will happily take a job with a company that perpetuates the same toxic behavior they apparently so detest. Being the person who says "No, this idea is stupid and monetized in a way that's antagonistic to human flourishing" is still an unpopular opinion overall, even though KOL's get praised for writing contrarian takes about the types of business practices they literally make their living from. Are we going to dick around with Warpcast posts about it, or actually exercise power by withholding our labor and attention from net-extractors and taking the personal financial loss of dedicating our work to human-centered alternatives?

this is so spot on it's almost even burying the lede, "monetization fatigue" and "cognitive overload" sound like a "dumb consumers" problem when phrased so succinctly, but it's actually way more universal and fundamental people who want to gamble do it twice a month when they get their paychecks... those same people play candycrush too and they have zero desire to financialize it. even in that dumb mindless moment where they are playing candycrush, they are cognizant of how it's being used as a thoughtless escape, with no consequences; tokenizing candycrush would rightfully be seen as a scammy moneygrab, because you'd be taking a safe, fun, relaxing escape, and sullying it with vulgar gambling mechanics it's not a dumb consumer problem, it's a dumb industry problem. solving for "monetization fatigue" and "cognitive overload" is dumb, even more than "people want to gamble", people just want to live their lives without their day-to-day happiness having financially impactful consequences on them long term.

It's Saturday. Made pancakes with my kid, run with the BerlinBraves and then sat at my computer to keep building this stubborn little app that refuses to phone home No VC. No user tracking. @rotki Just code, ideals, and a ridiculous belief that your financial data should be yours: https://rotki.com/download

*product network fit* When products create significant network value that goes unmeasured by its financial systems. Often essential infra that struggles to stay resourced. What's lacking is our imagination in designing economic models compatible with their mode of production.

Wouldn't that depend on one's preference the reality and facts of their society's overall health, vs their personal fantasy of rags-to-riches success.

Yeah I can tell from your play style that you're a very diligent quest-completer. We'd easily have a 100% quest completion rate if it weren't for the difficulty in finding requests to donate to. It's the one shitty part of this game.

Sorry, I meant the bar at the bottom of the page, showing who filled the request. (looks like it no longer appears in the game?)

Unfortunately it's common for active players to fail to find any requests to donate to :( Here's an example of another lvl 20 player with the same experience. https://warpcast.com/dutchess/0xaaa10c5c

This was appearing on all requests in recent search history.. So is the notification broken, or something else?

Yes that's cool but the problem is finding requests, not getting them filled. The issue here is finding donation requests because some users obsess over filling them all. It makes the "donate" quests nearly impossible.

Thanks! But I'm not seeing how using the group chat will help? The issue here is a lack of requests to donate to, because some users seem obsessed with filling them all. Not sure if it's a badly-programmed bot, a stupid strategy or just griefing.

So what's the point of the donation spam? I'm at ~110 with just a consistent, casual play style.

Why did it take you 4 hours to reply to this post when you can fill donation requests in < 10 seconds? ๐Ÿค”

Even the libs seem to recognize that we need to lighten the load of the state, at the very least.. So it's not too radical to suggest using protocols and public digital infra ๐Ÿ‘

@daylight is great. I hope they don't pivot to something stupid like memecoins. They're one of the few projects with a perfect UX, providing real value with calm technology. Onchain discovery is such a deep space for innovation and the surface has just barely been scratched. I'd love to see them expand to serve pro-social use cases like discovering contribution / collaboration opportunities, relevant PG value flows, awesome local projects and other regenerative interactions. Or, on the consumer side, vulnerability notifications or discovering relevant alternatives to the dapps I use. All stuff that I'd pay a reasonable price for.
