one of the most popular comic artist of all time was forced to remain anon until the final years of his life. he influenced Tezuka, among others. I mean... Tezuka! need more? in the zenith of his production, he was known as The Duckman, because a contract with Disney corp didn't allow him to get credit of his work.๐Ÿงต

but one fan trick the studio to dox Carl Barks, The Duckman, and write him a letter. Barks had no idea until then how famous and beloved is his work. He worked with his wife in a ranch far away from everything and the only mail received was the studio's checks...

As enlightening as always, rata <3. Carl Barks paved way for another legends like Don Rosa and I'm incredibly thankful to what he created! 200 $DEGEN

Too many young & desperate artists have fallen into the "work for hire" trap... including myself. Artists like Ub Ibwerks, the animator of Steamboat Willie, for instance, is hardly known today... while Walt Disney gets all the credit. Great cast, Rata! โœŠ

Too many people who worked in animation and comics from 40s, 50s and 60s didn't get any recognition, people like Cark barks, Jack Kirby, Bill Finger. It took so long for DC to recognize Bill Finger's contribution to Batman. Jack Kirby's case is even worse.
