It’s true that the game industry, which boomed during the pandemic, hasn’t seen much return from AAA game investments in the years since. But along the way, new heroes have emerged — teams behind games like Lethal Company, Schedule I, Survivor! and Whiteout Survival may not wear the AAA label, but they clearly understand what today’s gamers want — and how to deliver it. Games are a hit-driven business. They must be market-driven.
