would love to hear thoughts from @dwr.eth, @v and anyone who knows why farcaster chose to create their own name registry (vs ENS) and the benefit of having that fid vs just using wallet addresses directly?

gotcha - for fname it reads to me as no strong technical reason (and no enforcement intended), so I'd imagine it just simplifies UX/onboarding, and allows more control and revenue to stay in the protocol. Is that a good read? I'm still puzzled on why fids and not using wallet addresses directly as IDs, though!
