This is a tough lesson, going forward always double-check contracts now. Scammers are getting smarter, stay vigilant

ough, that sucks. 

I keep going back and saying "the chart does not look natural". Went to token sniffer, but I mean, token sniffer usually brings up a lot of red flags for a new token, but no honey pot warning. but the chart looked strange. FOMO hit me and I bought a little. 

And I did a test tx, was able to sell of of my $2 holdings. and then I bought more, like an idiot. Went to sell all few mins later and nope, can't do it. token sniffer at that point gave out the honey pot warning. 

should have not been lazy and found the honeypot.is site that @bleu.eth recommended. But I didn't have it bookmarked. 

All idiot moves on my part. Hopefully, I learn this time...

That happened to me with a coin someone recommended to me IRL - I should have known something was up when he said "it only keeps going up" and he was excited because he had some.

normally I'd be like - well, did you check if it was a honeypot? - because I  knew what they were and encountered them before. But no, I flexed and bought some right there in front of him.

Then next day I checked closer and sure enough, it was.  Next week I told him and he was devastated and never heard of that term

lol, no worries, buddy. 

Again, my fault. I made the swap.

Not sure they do honey pot but they are pretty protective 

No need to bookmark it’s a chrome extension. 

Basically it pop up each time you’re required to sign something, checks what you’re signing before metamask opens and tell you if it’s sus. 

If you say ok then only then metamask pops up for signature. 

Been using it for 3 years now.
