let me rephrase that:
Degen was FUCKING AMAZING for Farpcaster. 

1. brought in a bunch of users. yes farmers are actual users -- just second class (fuck you @geoffgolberg). 

2. showed everyone what's possible when you pair a social network with crypto and made bluesky look limp dick. 

3. actually fucking showed these haters that this shit can handle some scale you know. stress test and shit.

4. degen wealth effect. ok i generally don't like the fucking attitude of bunch of these farpcasters after they started to make money. they make a hundred grand with the fucking top hat and act like they own the fucking place.
BUT, some of the money flowed into funding cool shit in the ecosystem which was nice.
