I stopped making presents for Christmas or birthdays. Too much pressure and expectation. Instead, I do random gifts targeting current needs of the other person. Seems like everyone involved is much happier this way :)

right.  so they say giving a gift is more joyful and brings more satisfaction then receiving a gift

Present time prevents that joy. Now you just find a gift from the internet and you send it to the beloved ones. The older times where better you had to move yourself for find the perfect gift

I found this book on the topic to be rather impactful. Changed the way I think about gifts, giving & reciprocity
