Arweave for simple cases such as NFT media. It鈥檚 free and requires no maintenance afterwards. IPFS for more advanced ones, like storage layer for an app. It鈥檚 much more powerful and useful for anything nontrivial.

yeah arweave is perfect for nft metadata. isnt ipfs slow for app storage?

Depends on where/how you host it. You can have your own nodes if you are really concerned about the performance. The biggest advantage of IPFS for app storage are DAGs which allow you to create a meta structure for the data without relying on external storage systems.
