Gary Benfield was born on December 6, 1965 in Birmingham, England.  He studied art at Stourbridge College of Art (1984-1982) and at Wrexham College of Art (1986-1984).  In 1986, Benfield became a freelance illustrator.  After leaving the academic world, he set up his own studio near London, focusing on figure drawing and painting.  Within a few years, his works were collected throughout Europe and his reputation was solidified.  Today, Benfield's work enjoys mass global appeal and is collected by art collectors around the world
