many people in my mentions making fun of the obvious conclusion that everyone, including every great, older doctor comes to with age: life is still, largely, a mystery. we do our best. if you don’t understand that yet, you’re probably just young or stupid (or (guy below) both).

I legit cannot understand what the responder is trying to say - why would defeatism (the acceptance of the inevitable failure of the body) lead to billions of dollars for a “wacky experiment”? It seems that if he wants to characterize your statement as defeatist the implication that this “experiment” could be well funded doesn’t make sense - am I missing something?
