It’s been a bit since I’ve given an update, but I finally finished Base Camp and received all of the NFT badges for completing the exercises. I learned a lot through these exercises, but know I still have so much to learn. 100% recommend Base Camp to anyone trying to build unchain :). Now I’ll try to build.

Today I got my third nft badge from base camp by completing the arrays exercise. This one wasn’t too difficult but I definitely learned a lot. Now I’m working on mapping, which so far I’m struggling a little with the exercise. Will work on it more tomorrow. Someday I’ll build something useful on Base.

Not sure how many of you know this or not but providing liquidity in Aerodrome for the tn100x/WETH pool has like a 700%apr. I’ve been getting around 400 $AERO per day from it which is pretty crazy. Not sure how long it will last. there’s possibility of impermanent loss so keep that in mind. Please dyor.

Base Camp today: Earned an NFT badge for completing the storage exercise. Learning how storage works and how to store data efficiently can make your Dapp more gas efficient! If you want to do base camp as well, you can do it here https://docs.base.org/base-camp/docs. I’m loving it so far!

Base Camp today: completed the Control Structures exercise and earned an NFT badge. After, I started the Storage in Solidity section. One thing that stuck with me - “Poor storage management practices can lead to bloated contracts that consume excessive gas”. Something I’ll keep in mind for the future.

base camp today: I didn’t get to work on it much, but something is better than nothing. I learned that revert is recommended over require because It is more gas efficient. I’ll remember that in the future when I work on something useful. I also started working on a smart contract to get my 2nd pin.

base camp today: received a badge NFT for deploying and verifying a smart contract on Base Sepolia. Also learned a bit about different control structures like Require and Revert. I feel bad about not studying yesterday, but it was my birthday. I don’t want to miss a single day….. I’ll continue tomorrow!

Continued Base Camp today and I’m really enjoying it. I learned about types, overflow, underflow, and testnet. Interesting thing I learned is Sepolia is the preferred testnet and recommended for all developers to use. I tried to get my first pin, but my code hasn’t passed yet. Will continue tomorrow.

Okay, so I completed my first day of working on base camp and I’ve learned quite a bit. I created a simple greeting contract on Remix. I also learned that more efficient code saves gas, which is important! I’m having fun so far and looking forward to learning more.

I’m a front end software engineer and I’m going to start my journey of building on @base today. Will be doing the base bootcamp and will make casts about what I learned every day. My goal is the build something useful by the end of the year, or to be a dev at @base. Wish me luck.
