100% think that's the case, all depends on locality for more rural places, traditional/ primitive practices are totally appropriate what i'm arguing is those methods don't scale to feed cities profitability without massive unaccounted externalities. methods like these are intended for urban environments

I think they can if people buy direct from their farmers and we don’t centralize the food supply as much through grocery stores. Granted we’d need a decentralized network of many more farmers working small acreage. These more advanced methods are interesting but the equipment required creates a barrier to entry.

same startup capital costs to grow an acres worth of strawberries using 1/8 of an acre and 90% less water some kinks to work out in the tech itself but that’s why we’re a research nonprofit using government and corporate grants to fund it and share the knowledge in an open source database
