Columns of light are a visual phenomenon caused by the reflection of light in ice crystals. This light can come from the sun, the moon, or terrestrial light sources such as street lights. Of course, note that light columns are different from aurora borealis and are not the same phenomena.

Fascinating topic! While light columns are distinct from aurora borealis, it's interesting to note how they can still be influenced by celestial bodies, such as the moon's position, affecting the intensity of the phenomenon.
