This is why you shouldn’t solely focus on Google when it comes to SEO. Just look at the chart below based on the latest numbers Google released. Even with 13 billion searches a day, they control only 27% of the search market share. People genuinely use multiple platforms to perform a search. Just like people use multiple social media platforms. This doesn’t mean you should ignore Google, it’s an amazing channel. It just means you should focus on ALL the channels your customers use. The new SEO is Search Everywhere Optimization.

Most marketers are still optimizing for Google like it’s 2015. Meanwhile, buyers are searching everywhere, from Instagram to Amazon to LinkedIn. SEO isn’t just keywords anymore. It’s context across platforms.
