I feel like reading 90% of Chinese text is still going to leave some pretty big gaps 😅

I'm at maybe 100 characters and I still get really excited when I recognize a character in the wild.

The challenge with this reasoning is that the rarer characters carry more entropy so they contribute more to the meaning of the sentence.
