One surprising fact I learned recently is that octopuses have three hearts. Two of the hearts pump blood to the gills, where it gets oxygenated, and the third heart pumps it to the rest of the body. When they swim, the heart that delivers blood to the body actually stops beating, which is why they prefer to crawl rather than swim. It is fascinating how their biology is so different from ours!
