ok this explains it. time for a new battery. appleβs 88% is basically 50% of the original capacity

oh that makes sense. I've been trying to get a read on why my old iphone 13 is losing 1% a minute when it's on but it keeps saying the battery health is only at 88% or so I thought it might have a short it was so bad. I left it uncharged for a few months before giving it to my daughter and I think that was the final straw for the battery life

below 80% and they show you a "significantly impaired" warning in the app and replace the battery for free if you have apple care+ so their 20% has always been around 50-65% of the real capacity
