Seeking advice: I thought I'd be a ultrawide monitor guy but after 8 years of rocking a 34" QHD at 50hz (my kvm is wack) I _think_ what I really want is a much sharper display. A 4K 27" 120hz display to be exact. Anyone have strong opinions for either? Especially for reading/writing docs or code!

i thought you wanted sharp? it's currently physically impossible to drive that resolution at higher frame rates until thunderbolt 5 comes out

this is not 5K. it's 4K with extra horizontal pixels. true 5K is 5120x2880

look at the PPI difference. macOS is going to render that at 2560x1080 to be "retina" which is around 200+ PPI like their displays

Hmmm yeah that is a big difference in ppi. This would just be a minor increase from my current 3440x1440 34” display at 109.68 ppi. welp, back to researching! (I still want something faster than 60hz which may just mean thunderbolt 5 like you said)
