The Maidens of Avignon is a work by the contemporary Spanish painter, Pablo Picasso, and even according to Newsweek, it is the most influential work of art in the last hundred years. Picasso painted this work in the summer of 1907 in France, after visiting an exhibition of African masks in Paris.
