U.S. ETFs have more bitcoins than Satoshi Nakamoto The aggregate holdings of bitcoins managed by U.S. exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuing companies have surpassed the 1.1 million mark, or nearly $110 billion at current exchange rates. This fact was highlighted by Eric Balchunas, an ETF market analyst at Bloomberg. "Kings of the mountain. U.S. spot ETFs have surpassed Satoshi himself in terms of bitcoin holdings. They have more than 1.1 million bitcoins, more than anyone else in the world, and they are not even a year old," Balchunas wrote in X. This amount of cryptocurrency is indeed comparable to the number of bitcoins that the creator of bitcoin, known as Satoshi Nakamoto, is believed to own. Despite years of research and many theories about the number of bitcoins that Satoshi may be storing, no one can say the exact figure with certainty. However, there is a public consensus that he may own about 1.1 million bitcoins.
