My mom told me that when she was young (in the 70s) that they would slip scary ass shit into 1 frame of a scary movie to really scare you. Like you wouldn't consciously see it, but your unconscious would. 

I wonder if that is true. I've Googled it but can't find confirmation one way or the other.

Hahahah i guessed when infirst figured out i watched it thrice again to count the flashes on the screen…and they donflash tylerr on the screen which you only realise later once he explains what he does in the theatre.  What a freakin master that flick was!!!

I totally forgot about this part of the movie!
