inspired by @dwr.eth, the @base team now spends all our time thinking about how we grow:

- quality monthly transacting addresses (qMTA)
- quality monthly transacting builders (qMTB)

there's so much noise (and misdirection) in onchain metrics and it's been very helpful to focus in on the signal.

What qualifies as “quality” and “transacting” ?

we likely won't share exact heuristics due to it then being more easily gameable, but our current criteria include:

- having identity attributes (e.g. ENS, coinbase verification, worldcoin ID)
- holding a balance >= X
- transacting across Y number real apps over Z period
- deploying contracts

Makes a ton of sense, especially as something one would iterate through.
