context of convo, user history & recent chain + network activity will make this easier

Totally agree, though indexing tokens based on ticker may be difficult considering the number of tokens with the same ticker.

One proposed solution:
- query the OP's wallet for given ticker
- query reply guy's wallet for same ticker
- if CAs match (behind the scenes), execute txn
