Provisional update for Farcaster friends: My sources tell me that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was likely killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Hrat Heik neighborhood in Beirut. There has been no official communication from the group and its own channels are posting through it which is highly suggestive. Other sources have said that Nasrallah’s successor Hashim Shafialdeen was not present during the bombing.

I don’t think we’re appreciating how incredible it is to get updates like this live. From someone who is genuinely engaging with everyone here and not just casually cross posting. Come for the updates and stay for the top tier shitposting.

I think we're appreciating it

what I'm not seeing enough yet is answers to the questions of how we can:
 
1. attract other journalists to Farcaster 
2. make it financially sustainable for reporters to spend time here 
3. build a culture that engages with noncrypto + crypto reporting regularly 

people underestimate how much of twitter's relevance is downstream of journalists using the platform (using a broad definition of the term) 

Facebook has way more users, but is WAY less relevant, good reminder that a smaller network can wield outsized influence, something much much smaller network should internalize imo

Honestly seems like an incentives problem which crypto should be uniquely capable of solving elegantly. Something that doesn’t have 0 thought like auto tipping but not too much either. Like a list of reporters and a reporter budget of moxie that you can allocate daily. There’s a mechanism possible I’m sure.
