Days like this I try to think about MLK Jr. Fought an uphill battle and hated by the majority his whole life. Risked his life and the safety of his family. But didn't despair and still found things to love about America. He was playing an infinite game. Ignorant bullies play finite games.

you can be an apple without being a red apple Trump is like MLK in the sense that he’s for the people and against the system He’s created a movement that is nation wide and has created real lasting change He has iconic speeches and images

as I see it many people were already disillusioned, that’s been the animating core of both Trump wins. Harris doubled down on the threat he poses to the system, in doing so kinda campaigned in defense of something people have lost faith in More optimistically, it seems less like mass ideological drift to the right - none of it feels permanent

Yeah I agree but I mean disillusioned with Trump and the GOP, and really the ruling class owned duopoly parties as a whole. People still thinking Trump gives 2 shits about anyone worth less than $100m are in for a rude awakening.

In terms of shit to right i don't buy it, trump lost 3 million votes on 2020 total, I don't really buy a shift to the right, esspecialy looking at places like missouri, Nebraska, Alaska, who all went yes on props with big margins over Harris, this was liberals fucking up imo end of story this is has been bound to happen since 2016, eventually something gotta give

Yeah now that the republican party is 100% MAGA and he'll be completely unshackled in congress, the people who voted for him for reasons other than bigotry will quickly find out how good his "concepts of a plan" are.
