What's one thing that's confusing about Farcaster?

onboarding for new users: the suggested follows aren't very useful, lots of good channels aren't obvious to newcomers (I would never have joined /six or /bad-takes on day one but they are actually great places to cast) everyone's doing $DEGEN or 🍖 tips but channel org. makes it hard for users to get plugged in

@dwr.eth biggest issue is cultural, no warm welcome, lots of slightly hostile casts about norms & how "farcaster is different" but I actually didn't experience the high signal low noise until I actively sought it out. instead I saw a bunch of accounts with huge followings complaining about new users

I don't think that's widespread?

Plenty of warm welcomes too, but I am surprised how hostile the reaction to new users & speculative activity has been. I personally love it here, but FC culture seems bit tribal & self-congratulatory about how we do things instead of encouraging divergent uses. FC is an expansive network, not for us, but for all

Hmm, ymmv My sense is Farcaster is quite open to new people joining. That said, the focus from the beginning is quality. Ultimately, the freedom to create your own client for each type of community is how Farcaster will scale.
