update: there is some massive conspiracy with OTC tix scalpers colluding with franchise managers to secure the pokemon card line. Talked to a guy buying TEN BOXES A WEEK (that's about $2-2.5k of product). No shipments in months of official TCG. Just stacking tickets to buy a box myself once the opportunity presents

There has always been some level of tix-to-resell activity at DB. Mostly this is on high ticket items (Ipad, Switch, Quest). Pokemon TCG upsets the equilibrium because: - DB prices items based on their wholesale cost. Pokemon TCG is much higher retail margin than electronics. - TCG is selling at premium beyond retail on secondary. - There are no official restrictions on TCG packs, whereas individual is limited to one big ticket item per week. So you have a combination of a much more liquid, higher margin product just recently available and fellas that have been hoarding tickets (since they are throttled on their spend). Some stores choosing not to continue stocking makes it worse for the stores who do, since OTC tix buyers are cashing in tickets from other locations. It costs 28,800 tickets for the SV02 TCG box, which sells for $230. Good player spends $25-35 for those tix. OTC for the tix is about $100-150. Same rates not profitable for Quest 2 @ 150k tix
