There’s a beautiful immigrant family in my complex. I’ve watched them over the last couple years — respectful, hard-working, raising their kids, trying to build a life in a country that’s not always welcoming. Today, with the way things are sliding into chaos, I did what I felt was my duty — not as a politician or a preacher, but as a combat veteran who’s seen what happens when good people stay silent. I went up to the father. I looked him in the eye and told him: If shit ever goes sideways, you don’t stand alone. You come to my door — no one’s coming through it without meeting some heat. That’s not charity. That’s brotherhood. That’s what real patriotism looks like. We protect each other, or we lose everything.
